Parts of northern Surrey sit close to neighbouring London boroughs. From towns such as Staines-upon-Thames, Esher, Weybridge and Epsom, a suitable London venue may be within a sensible travelling distance, so it is worth searching across the boundary.

From other parts of Surrey, events in Hampshire, West Sussex, Berkshire, Kent or East Sussex may be equally practical. From the 2026/27 season, the standard pathway in England is 3v3 at U7, 5v5 at U8 and U9, 7v7 at U10 and U11, 9v9 at U12 and U13, and 11v11 from U14. Tournaments sometimes use alternatives such as 6v6, so check the individual listing. When Surrey tournaments happen

Many outdoor grassroots tournaments take place from late spring through the summer, with particularly strong availability between June and August. Timing varies by organiser and venue, and some tournaments using indoor or artificial pitches may run at other times of year.

Popular summer tournaments often take entries months in advance, so it is worth looking early or setting an alert for your age group.

Choosing and entering a tournament

Before you commit, check the organiser-declared level against your squad, the playing format and squad size, the number of guaranteed games, the date and kick-off time, and the wet-weather and refund policy. Work out the travel honestly too: the drive at that time on that day, parking at the venue, and whether an early kick-off means leaving before dawn.
