A postcode search can be the quickest way to see what is genuinely reachable, since a radius crosses council-area lines rather than stopping at them. This is particularly useful near Belfast, where several council areas sit close together.

One thing to know before you rely on it: our distances are measured in a straight line, and a straight line does not know about the sea. A search from Belfast with a wide enough radius can reach south west Scotland or the Isle of Man, which are nowhere near as close as the mileage suggests. Northern Ireland has no road connection to the rest of the UK, so check how you would actually get there before entering anything outside it.

Playing formats in Northern Ireland

Filter by age group from U7 to U16 and by the organiser-declared level. The level is set by the organiser, not assessed by FindMeFootball, so treat it as a guide and confirm before entering. Our guide to choosing the right level has more.

Northern Ireland follows the Irish FA's Youth Football Framework rather than England Football's FutureFit pathway. It sets out 3v3 at U7, 5v5 at U8 and U9, 7v7 at U10 and U11, 9v9 at U12 and U13, and 11v11 from U14.

The framework is being introduced in phases over several years, and the rules that apply on the day are the ones used by the relevant league or small-sided games centre. So check the organiser-declared format rather than assuming, particularly at the younger ages where a festival may be run differently.

Tournaments elsewhere in the UK

Northern Ireland has no road connection to England, Scotland or Wales, so anything on the other side of the Irish Sea means a ferry or a flight, whatever the mileage says. If you are looking further afield, start from the UK tournament search and plan the journey first.

Before you commit, check the organiser-declared level against your squad, the playing format and squad size, the number of guaranteed games, the date and kick-off time, and the wet-weather and refund policy.
