The North West borders Scotland to the north and Wales to the south west. It also meets the North East and Yorkshire and the Humber across the Pennines, and the East Midlands and West Midlands to the south east, so a suitable tournament may sit just over one of those boundaries.

This is particularly useful near the Scottish border in Cumbria, the Welsh border in Cheshire, and across the Pennines towards Yorkshire and the North East.

Filter by age group and level

The same filters help whichever way you arrive at a list. Filter by age group from U7 to U16 and by the organiser-declared level.

From the 2026/27 season, the maximum formats in England are 3v3 at U7, 5v5 at U8 and U9, 7v7 at U10 and U11, 9v9 at U12 and U13, and 11v11 from U14. Smaller formats may be used, so always check the individual tournament rules rather than assuming. When North West tournaments happen

Many outdoor grassroots tournaments take place from late spring through the summer, with particularly strong availability between June and August. Timing varies by organiser and venue, and some tournaments using indoor or artificial pitches may run at other times of year.

Popular summer tournaments often take entries months in advance, so it is worth looking early or setting an alert for your age group.

Before you commit, check the organiser-declared level against your squad, the playing format and squad size, the number of guaranteed games, the date and kick-off time, and the wet-weather and refund policy.
